1. Escape to a private island

Through Dec. 29, the Ritz-Carlton in White Plains, New York, is offering discounts of up to $100 a night on stays booked 14 or more days in advance. Doubles at the Westchester County hotel, located a short train ride from Manhattan, start at $299.
3. Cruise the globe
Set sail on Viking's epic 128-day world cruise and receive $4,000 in shipboard credit per couple. The cruise, which departs Miami on Jan. 3, starts at $49,995 per person, assuming double occupancy. Book by Dec. 31.
