Today’s back pages: Jurgen Klopp’s Champions League war cry
A round-up of the sport headlines from UK newspapers on 17 September
Klopp’s Euro warning
Jurgen Klopp has issued a “war cry”, says the Daily Mail, by warning European rivals that Liverpool are out to win a seventh Champions League title this season.
In Madrid in June Liverpool beat Tottenham 2-0 to lift the trophy and Klopp said: “We want to create more stories to remember in the future, not just this one.”

Liverpool start their Champions League defence in Italy tonight against Napoli and Klopp is eager to right a wrong, the Independent reports, after the Reds lost 1-0 in the group clash in Naples last season.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror says the German has “laughed off” claims that contract talks at Anfield have stalled because he doesn’t like the cold, dark, wet British weather.
The group E clash between Napoli and Liverpool kicks off at 8pm (UK time) and is live on BT Sport 2.
