Today’s back pages: Son rises as five-star Spurs take heat off Pochettino
A round-up of the sport headlines from UK newspapers on 23 October
High five for Spurs
Metro reports that Tottenham Hotspur put on a “five star” performance as they thrashed Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League last night.
Spurs came into the game on the back of a poor run of results, including the 7-2 loss against Bayern Munich at the start of the month.
However, the 5-1 win over Red Star eases the pressure on boss Mauricio Pochettino and moves them to second in group B.

Harry Kane and Son Heung-min both netted twice for Spurs while Erik Lamela was also on the scoresheet. “Son rises for Poch”, the Daily Express reports, after the South Korean’s star turn.
Manchester City were also among the goals last night as they beat Atalanta 5-1 in Champions League group C.
‘Spies are watching England’
There’s a “spy storm” at the Rugby World Cup, the Daily Mail reports, after England head coach Eddie Jones claimed yesterday that onlookers had filmed the team’s training ahead of the semi-final against New Zealand.
The Daily Telegraph says that Jones has pointed the finger at the All Blacks as tensions ramp up ahead of Saturday’s clash.
