1. Why isn't Morpheus actor Laurence Fishburne in the Matrix Resurrections trailer?

There is no spoon, and in the trailer for The Matrix Resurrections, there is no Laurence Fishburne. On Thursday, Warner Bros. dropped the highly-anticipated trailer for the fourth Matrix film, which sees Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss returning to the iconic sci-fi franchise. But one actor's absence was felt by fans: Fishburne, who played Morpheus in the original trilogy. The trailer instead seems to suggest Yahya Abdul-Mateen II may be playing a young Morpheus. So is Fishburne really not in the film? According to the actor, he won't be appearing, as he said last year he had "not been invited." As for why, he told Collider "you'd have to ask [director] Lana Wachowski why, because I don't have an answer for that." But as some fans pointed out, Morpheus was technically killed off in the video game The Matrix Online, so the movie could just be following that canon.

2. North West calls Kim Kardashian fake

Kim Kardashian will never be able to pull a fast one on fans so long as North West is around. Kardashian was filming a makeup tutorial when her 8-year-old daughter called her out: "Why do you talk different for your videos?" Kardashian was quick to deny changing her voice, but when West did an impression of her mother's altered voice, her cousin Penelope Disick backed her up. Kardashian pivoted to show the kids putting makeup on fruit, but it quickly backfired when she said she was glad they were using her products. "Are you sure you're glad?" West asked. "Because you always say you're glad when you're mad." North: 2; Kim: 0.

3. NFL x Ed Sheeran is the collab no one asked for

One could be forgiven for believing Ed Sheeran was about to face off with Tom Brady after seeing the ad for NFL's 2021 kickoff. Alas, the ginger musician is simply performing ahead of Thursday night's game. But you can purchase merchandise from the league with Sheeran's name on the back, as though he were a seven-time Super Bowl champion himself. That's right, an NFL x Ed Sheeran jacket could be yours for just $250. Unfortunately for the league, the Venn Diagram of NFL fans and Ed Sheeran fans may very well be two circles.

4. Jennifer Lawrence is pregnant!

Relatable everywoman Jennifer Lawrence is having a baby. A rep for the aggressively normal 31-year-old actress confirmed the news to People on Thursday, noting that the forthcoming little one will be Lawrence's first child with her husband, a man who is blessedly not Darren Aronofsky but a regular-sounding art gallery owner named Cooke Maroney. Lawrence has been married to Maroney since October 2019, and when once asked by Catt Sadler how she knew he was "the one," she gave the riveting answer: "I don't know, I started with the basics: 'How do I feel? Is he nice? Is he kind?'" Congrats to Lawrence on becoming a lowercase mother!, and hopefully baby M will inherit daddy's gene for balance.

Celebrities are popping out babies left and right, so you have to forgive fans for jumping immediately to conclusions after Big Little Lies actress Shailene Woodley posted a captionless photo of baby feet on her Instagram. "IS SHE A MOM? IS THAT A RANDOM BABY? WHO IS THAT? DID SHAILENE WOODLEY [HAVE] A BABY AND NO ONE KNEW? I NEED SOME INFORMATION HERE," wrote one Twitter user, speaking for us all. Woodley notably is engaged to quarterback Aaron Rodgers, though reps for the couple "did not immediately return" Page Six's requests for comment, meaning the agony of wondering whose baby is that?!? will go on indefinitely.
