1. Reba McEntire had to be rescued by firefighters after a freak staircase collapse
Reba McEntire had to be evacuated through a second-story window by a fire ladder this week after she and others were trapped in an "old historical building" due to the staircase unexpectedly collapsing. "Thankfully, no one was seriously injured," McEntire tweeted after the incident. Apparently Reba and her crew had been scoping out the Atoka, Oklahoma, building for a "future project" that it now seems they're unlikely to go through with. "It opened our eyes to see exactly just how unsturdy [the stairs] were and when they did collapse, we [saw] what little was holding them up," said Travis Mullins, the emergency management director for the city of Atoka. Now when Reba releases "The Day the Staircase Went Out in Oklahoma," you'll know what she's talking about.
2. Jojo Siwa adorably celebrates 4 anniversaries a month with her girlfriend
Jojo Siwa and her girlfriend, Kylie Prew, are gearing up to celebrate the first time they told each other that they liked each other — for the eighth time. The couple, who've been together since January, apparently celebrate four separate relationship milestones every month, Siwa told Jimmy Fallon this week. "We actually celebrate four days," Siwa explained, breaking down the anniversaries as being "when Ky asked me to be girlfriend, when I asked Ky to be girlfriend, when we told each other that we liked each other, and when we kissed for the first time. So we celebrate all four: 8th, 14th, 28th, and 29th." Fallon asked if that was "exhausting," evidently forgetting what it's like to be 18, a time when you celebrate things like your "two week anniversary" with excitement. Still, Siwa conceded she and Prew will probably stop celebrating all four dates after their one-year anniversary.

3. North West is goth now
Kim Kardashian broke some big news on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday: Her oldest child, 8-year-old North West, is officially in her goth stage. "All my kids are so different," Kardashian said after calling Chicago, 3, her "girliest girl." North, on the other hand, "is like goth — she's into Hot Topic. She puts fake tattoos on her face, and she listens to Black Sabbath, and she's just like a full goth girl." Kardashian admitted that North hasn't grown out of her "I want to be an only child" phase yet either, and that there will be times she has to separate her from her three younger siblings on the way to school. "She wants her own music, she wants her own vibe, she wants to sing with her friends," Kardashian said. A bunch of 8-year-olds singing "War Pigs" in the car on the way to school? Terrifying.
4. Ed Sheeran says award shows are 'horrible'
Ed Sheeran performed at the MTV Video Music Awards over the weekend, but that doesn't mean he enjoyed it. "The room is filled with resentment and hatred towards everyone else and it's quite an uncomfortable atmosphere," the singer told Audacy. He clarified that this applies to all American award shows, due to the competitiveness. "It's a really, really horrible atmosphere to be in there. I always walk away feeling sad and I don't like it," he said. But across the pond, they seem to have figured out how to do award shows the right way. "In England, our award shows are just like, everyone gets drunk and no one really cares who wins or loses, it's just sort of a good night out," Sheeran said. America, take note.

5. If they have to remake The Bodyguard, they might as well cast Lizzo
No classic can escape the tsunami of remakes and reboots that has taken over the entertainment industry — not even The Bodyguard is safe. The 1992 film starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner is set to be reworked by Tony-nominated playwright Matthew López. As for the leading lovers this time around, "combos from Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson to Channing Tatum and Cardi B have been floated," reports Variety. In a TikTok, Lizzo didn't seem too thrilled about the remake until a Twitter user suggested she and her public flirting partner Chris Evans take on the roles — then she was on board. The pair would breeze through a chemistry read, no doubt.
