1. Hilary Duff slams 'heartless' publisher over unfinished Aaron Carter memoir

Too soon? Hilary Duff is speaking out against Ballast Books over its plans to publish her ex-boyfriend Aaron Carter's unfinished and "incomplete" memoir not even two weeks after his death. Aaron Carter: An Incomplete Story of an Incomplete Life was co-written by Andy Symonds, who interviewed Carter for three years, and excerpts have already been making the rounds, including one where Carter claims he and Duff lost their virginity to each other at 13. "It's really sad that within a week of Aaron's death, there's a publisher that seems to be recklessly pushing a book out to capitalize on this tragedy without taking appropriate time or care to fact check the validity of his work," Duff said in a statement, calling the "unverified" book an "uninformed, heartless, money grab." Carter's management team also slammed the book, but the author defended it, saying, "Aaron had a right — as we all do — to tell his story."
