Champions League: PSG star Neymar will miss last-16 ties against Man Utd
Brazilian striker ruled out for ten weeks after breaking a metatarsal
Paris Saint-Germain have been hit by a major injury blow after Brazilian striker Neymar was ruled out for ten weeks with a broken metatarsal.
The 26-year-old was injured in a French Cup victory against Strasbourg on 23 January. Following an assessment the French giants have confirmed he will miss a number of Ligue 1 matches as well as both legs against Manchester United in the Champions League round of 16.
In a statement the French champions said: “Paris Saint-Germain gathered together a group of world-renowned medical experts at the Ooredoo Training Centre to carry out a thorough review of the injury to Neymar Jr’s right foot.

“After detailed analysis by the specialists, a consensus was reached of a conservative treatment of Neymar Jr’s injury to the fifth right metatarsal. As a result, Neymar Jr is expected to return to the field within ten weeks.”
PSG travel to Old Trafford to face Man Utd in the Champions League last-16 first leg on Tuesday 12 February. The second leg will be held at the Parc des Princes in Paris on Wednesday 6 March.
