Michael Gove has told ministers he is prepared to delay Brexit until late 2020 rather than leave without a deal on October 31. Meanwhile, Boris Johnson’s plan for a dream team alliance looks set to fail as Amber Rudd prepares to support Matt Hancock and then Michael Gove in the Tory leadership battle. Another hopeful, Sajid Javid, says he is prepared to scrap the top rate of income tax.
