1. BOMB SUSPECTS ARE CHECHEN BROTHERS
The two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings are believed to be brothers of Chechen origin. They have been named as Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, and Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, 19. Tamerlan died in hospital from gunshot wounds after a confrontation with police and his younger brother is believed to be still on the run in a district of Boston called Watertown.

2. GEN MUSHARRAF HELD UNDER HOUSE ARREST
General Pervez Musharraf, the former Pakistani president, was arrested at his home in Islamabad overnight over charges relating to his attempt to arrest judges under the emergency rule he imposed in 2007. Today, Musharraf was taken under heavy guard to court where a district judge ordered that he be held under house arrest for two days.

3. MEASLES OUTBREAK: 2M CHILDREN AT RISK
Two million children are at risk of measles if the current outbreak in Wales spreads across Britain - because they were not given the MMR vaccination during the scare over its safety a decade ago. Doctors have called for "an immediate catch-up" saying it was "a matter of time" before a child dies or is disabled by measles.
4. TEXAS BLAST 'AN ACCIDENT' SAY POLICE
Texas police said last night that there was "no indication" that the explosion which destroyed a fertilizer plant at West, near Waco, was "anything other than an industrial accident". But emergency services were treating it as a "crime scene" as they searched for survivors after the blast known to have killed 14 and injured 173 so far.
5. IMF CHIEF IN COURT OVER 'AFFAIR TAPIE'
IMF chief Christine Lagarde has been summoned to a French court next month to answer questions over alleged abuse of her office as part of the 'Affair Tapie' scandal during her time as France's finance minister. She will be questioned in front of a magistrate over her role in awarding compensation to businessman Bernard Tapie in 2008.
6. ROLF HARRIS BAILED IN YEWTREE PROBE
The BBC is reporting that Rolf Harris, the 83-year-old Australian entertainer and artist, has been questioned by police over historical allegations of sexual offences. Police have not formally identified him as the man they describe as Yewtree 5 who was arrested on 28 March and bailed until May. His identity has not been revealed until today for legal reasons, says the BBC.
7. PINK FLOYD ALBUM COVER DESIGNER DIES
Storm Thorgerson, the album cover designer who created the iconic prism on Pink Floyd's 'The Dark Side of the Moon' and who grew up with the band in Cambridge, has died at 69. Pink Floyd guitarist and vocalist Dave Gilmour said that as children it was Thorgerson who made "the most noise, bursting with ideas and enthusiasm".

8. 'ONLY GOD FORGIVES' FOR CANNES FESTIVAL
'Only God Forgives', the second film from the partnership of Ryan Gosling and Nicolas Winding Refn, who made the hit 'Drive', joins Steven Soderbergh's Liberace biopic in competition for the Palme D'Or prize at next month's Cannes Film Festival. Roman Polanski's 'Venus In Fur' is also in contention. Steven Spielberg heads the jury.
9. EUSTON DEMOLITION PROPOSAL SCRAPPED
Plans to demolish and rebuild Euston, Britain's sixth busiest railway station, and build a brand new terminus for the HS2 high-speed project in its place, have been scrapped. The north London station will instead be redeveloped with 11 new platforms. The £16.3bn London to Birmingham link is to open by 2026.
10. HOT TICKET: REMAKE OF EVIL DEAD OPENS
A remake of Sam Raimi's cult horror film 'Evil Dead', directed by Fede Alvarez, opens in UK cinemas today. Five friends staying in a remote cabin in the woods discover a demonic book and unwittingly summon up evil forces intent on destroying them. "Recaptures the original's hardcore nastiness," says Empire.
