1. CEREMONIES TO MARK WW1 ANNIVERSARY

Ceremonies have been taking place in the UK and Europe today to mark one hundred years since Britain entered the First World War. The Prince of Wales and David Cameron attended a service in Glasgow, while the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are in Belgium with many heads of state. There will be a candlelit vigil in Westminster Abbey.
