The first page of the manifesto says none of the commitments it contains will require any extra borrowing.

3. ALPS SKIING DEATH: BOY WAS ‘DARING’
The family of a seven-year-old boy who died in a skiing accident in the French Alps on Friday have described him as a “daring, outgoing, determined little boy”. Carwyn Scott-Howell became separated from his family when they stopped to help his sister whose ski had come off. He took a wrong turning and fell 160ft.
4. OLIVIER AWARD FOR ANGELA LANSBURY
Former Murder She Wrote actress Dame Angela Lansbury was last night presented with the Olivier Award for best supporting actress. The 89-year-old said she felt “like a million dollars” after claiming the prestigious theatre award for her portrayal of medium Madame Arcati in Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit.
5. IMAM MURDER: MAN ARRESTED IN BRENT
A 46-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder the Syrian-born former Imam, and vocal critic of Syria’s president Bashar al-Assad, Abdul Hadi Arwani. The 48-year-old, a father of six, was found dead of gunshot wounds to the chest in his car in Wembley, north London, last Tuesday morning.
6. CYCLE PELOTON HAS NEAR MISS WITH TRAIN
Riders in a key French cycle race at the weekend escaped death by seconds at a level crossing. The peloton of the Paris-Roubaix race approached just as the barriers were coming down. Some cyclists chose to ride around them seconds before a train passed through at high speed - they may be disqualified.
7. UK TO BE HOTTER THAN SPAIN THIS WEEK
Parts of the UK are expected to be warmer than Alicante in Spain this week, with temperatures 10C higher than average for the time of year. Forecasters say London and the south-east could be as hot as 24C on Wednesday. The warm weather comes after snow fell in the Pennines on Sunday.
8. CAMPAIGN TO MAKE TITANIC PRIEST A SAINT
A campaign has begun to have an Essex priest who helped passengers on the stricken RMS Titanic, dying when it sank, made into a saint. Father Thomas Byles was travelling to his brother's wedding in New York on the ill-fated voyage in 1912. He twice refused to get into a lifeboat, staying behind to lead prayers.
9. GAME OF THRONES HIT BY ONLINE LEAK
Epic fantasy TV series Game of Thrones was already the most pirated show ever made - but now the first four episodes of its hotly-anticipated fifth series have been leaked online ahead of broadcast. The show’s 2014 season finale was illegally downloaded more than eight million times, it has been claimed.
Game of Thrones death toll reaches 150,966
10. BRIEFING: THE FIRST HEAD TRANSPLANT
A Russian man has volunteered to become the first person in the world to undergo a head transplant. The controversial Italian neurosurgeon Dr Sergio Canavero plans to carry out the first transplant in the next few years. The procedure has never before been performed on a human, but Canavero insists that "we are now at a point when the technical aspects are all feasible."
