‘Puerile’ restaurant boss wafted fart towards waiter

A waiter has won a claim of unfair dismissal after his “childish” boss farted and then smiled while wafting the smell towards him in front of customers. A tribunal heard that Alessandro Cretella, owner of the Italian L’antipasto in London, also repeatedly burped in Edgar Simplicio’s face and asked him whether he would like to see a picture of his poo. The waiter described his boss as “disgusting and puerile”.

Mystery rubber duck arrives in harbour

A huge rubber duck has appeared in a harbour in Maine and no one knows how it got there. The 25-foot-tall duck - which is emblazoned with the word "joy" - appeared in the harbour in Belfast on Saturday, according to the New England Cable News. “Everybody loves it,” the harbour master said. “I have no idea who owns it, but it kind of fits Belfast. A lot of people want to keep it here.”

War bunker reopened as guest house

A bunker built by German troops in France during the Second World War Two has been restored and refitted as an underground guesthouse. Serge Colliou, who bought the site, spent 18 months digging out and renovating the 400-square-metre structure, turning it into rental for up to eight people, complete with bar and living room. “We adapted it while preserving a certain feel,” he said.
