The pop singer Demi Lovato has objected to the use of the word “alien” to refer to life from other planets and suggested we call them “ETs” instead. “I think that we have to stop calling them aliens because aliens is a derogatory term for anything, the non-binary singer told Pedestrian. “That’s why I like to call them ETs!” Lovato said they do not believe that beings from another planet mean to harm humans.

Man celebrates pumpkin victory
A man in Washington State won the top award at Half Moon Bay pumpkin festival for his 2,191-pound gourd. Jeff Uhlmeyer, 62, won $19,719 (£14,500) for his pumpkin. “It just grew and grew,” he said. “It’s a very thick pumpkin. When I pulled it out of the patch earlier in the week, it was still growing.”
