Nevada locals warn Area 51 revellers of scorpion danger

UFO enthusiasts have gathered in rural Nevada for a pilgrimage to Area 51. Local residents say they are “preparing for the worst” as fans of the viral Storm Area 51 Facebook event descend on a town near the secretive military base. One local warned revellers that shorts “don’t protect you against critters, snakes and scorpions”.
Priests pour holy water over Russian city
Russian Orthodox priests have poured gallons of holy water over the city of Tver, hoping that it will help save residents from the “diseases” of sex and drugs. One of the bishops said there was nothing funny about the approach, adding: “We promote stopping alcohol consumption, drugs and fornication - is this laughable?"

Instagram man's bid for free drinks backfires
An Instagrammer trying to blag free drinks from a bar in Sydney was disappointed when the bar owner bluntly rebuffed him. The man wrote to the bar saying “it would be great to promote you on my Instagram, all my followers are Sydney based so you would get lots of interaction” and offering posts in exchange for drinks. The bar owner replied: “Yeah nah lol. Good luck with your influencing mate.” The would-be influencer then bombarded the bar with abusive messages.
