A man had to have a fish surgically removed from his rectum after telling a nurse that he “accidentally sat on” the animal. The patient arrived at the Zhaoqing First People’s Hospital in China complaining of “intense abdominal pain”. When he told the nurse he had mistakenly sat on the fish, she reportedly replied: “Do you think I’m an idiot?”
Hotel boss says venue unsuitable for overweight guests
A hotel owner in Germany is under attack after announcing that her venue’s facilities are “not suitable” for people who weigh more than 20 stone. Angelika Hargesheimer said she made the announcement on the website of her hotel Beachhotel Sahlenburg after she was sued by an “overweight guest” whose bed collapsed while he was sleeping in it.

Humpback whale swims up Montreal river
A humpback whale swam up one of Canada’s major rivers and has been spotted in the waters off Montreal. The whale has been swimming in the St Lawrence river against the backdrop of the Montreal skyline. “The best option is to let nature take its course,” said an expert.
