Giant avocado pears that weigh almost 2kg (4lbs) are hitting supermarket shelves today. The huge fruits, known as Avozilla avocados, are nine times heavier than the average avocado. They will set you back £4 when they go on sale at 300 Tesco stores across the country today.
Man has ears surgically removed
A tattoo addict has spent more than £6,000 to have his ears removed so that his head looks like a skull. The 39-year-old from Finsterwalde, Germany, known as ‘Mr Skull Face’ on social media, says his new appearance has boosted his confidence - but it has been criticised as “sick” on social media. He now keeps his ear lobes in a jar.

Man sets hairstyle record
A US man has set the Guinness World Record for the world’s tallest mohawk. Joseph Grisamore, a social worker from Minnesota, said: “When I was first informed that I’d become a Guinness World Records title holder, I was over the top.” His wife Laura insists she finds his hair “very sexy.”
