Real president Florentino Perez said: “We have been trying to make Hazard a Real Madrid player for several years. We are working on a project to make people dream again, where we recover our hunger and ambition. Last year we wanted him, but this year he only has one year left on his contract and it is easier.”
Belgium playmaker Hazard will line up for Chelsea in tonight’s Europa League final against Arsenal. He says victory in Baku would be the “perfect farewell”, Sky Sports reports.
Hazard said: “I just want to win the trophy, that is it. It does not matter if I score or I do not score. If it is my last game, I hope to bring the trophy. Would it be the perfect farewell? Yes.”
Spurs bid £53m for Lo Celso
The Daily Telegraph reports that Tottenham Hotspur have made a bid of £53m for Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso. The 23-year-old Argentine international has been linked with a host of clubs and The Guardian says that Betis are insisting his €100m (£88m) release clause must be met.

Alderweireld set for Spurs stay
Toby Alderweireld is set to “spurn” Manchester United and stay at Tottenham. The Belgium defender said: “My only focus is Spurs. Because of this focus I think I had a good season as well. I have one year left on my contract, so in my head, I will play for Spurs next season.” (Daily Mail)
Trippier ‘too old’ for Napoli
One Tottenham defender who could be on the move this summer is Kieran Trippier. The right-back has been linked with Napoli, but The Sun reports the 28-year-old has been deemed “too old” for the Italian club. However, The Guardian says that Everton and Manchester United are “monitoring the situation”.
Jovic hints at Prem move
Manchester City have been given a boost in their pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt forward Luka Jovic. The Manchester Evening News reports that the 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer. There has also been interest from Manchester United, but apparently the young striker is keeping his options open for the time being. See more Man City transfer news.
Three Lions stars focused on club and country
England internationals Harry Maguire and Declan Rice are only focused on their clubs and country, not potential summer transfers. Leicester City defender Maguire and West Ham midfielder Rice have both been linked with Manchester United and Manchester City. Maguire said: “When I’m away with England, I don’t think about anything to do with club football.” Rice added: “I know there’s speculation but during the season I signed a new five-year contract with West Ham, so my focus is fully on playing for West Ham.” (Sky Sports)
Maguire urges Maddison to stay
Harry Maguire believes that team-mate James Maddison should stay at Leicester City despite rumours that Tottenham are interested in signing the playmaker. Maguire said: “He’s a talented boy, he’s got everything going for him and I think at the moment Leicester is a great club for him. I think he’s going to learn from being at Leicester and I think he’ll keep improving. So there might be some bids coming in for him but I’m sure Leicester will want to keep hold of him.” (Leicester Mercury)
Wilson set to leave Anfield
Harry Wilson has sparked a “transfer scramble” by deciding to leave Liverpool this summer. The 22-year-old Welsh international starred on loan at Derby County this season and has attracted the interest of clubs in the Premier League, Bundesliga and La Liga. Crystal Palace, Newcastle, Southampton, Brighton, Augsburg, Hertha Berlin and Eintracht Frankfurt are all keen on the winger. (Daily Mirror)
