De Gea was a long-term target for Real Madrid, but the Spanish giants signed Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea last week. ESPN says United are hopeful that Courtois’ move to Real will now “speed up contract negotiations” with their No.1 De Gea.
Christian Eriksen: Tottenham to Paris Saint-Germain
Spurs playmaker Christian Eriksen was yesterday being linked with a transfer to Real Madrid, but today it’s reported that French giants PSG are also interested. PSG are preparing a £100m deal to sign the Denmark star before the French transfer deadline on 31 August. (Daily Express)
Barca: Dembele not for sale
Barcelona have no intention of selling Ousmane Dembele this summer. The French forward was linked with Arsenal before the Premier League transfer window closed last week. (Sport)

Ruben Loftus-Cheek: Chelsea to Schalke
Schalke are also keen on signing England midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan, The Daily Telegraph reports, but it’s unlikely Chelsea will let him leave. Schalke want Loftus-Cheek to replace Max Meyer, who signed for Crystal Palace. The Guardian says 22-year-old Loftus-Cheek will reject Schalke and fight for a spot in Chelsea’s midfield.
