That might suit both parties, with the teenager limited for the moment to the odd outings in the Europa League and League Cup.
Meanwhile, Monaco lost again at the weekend and are now second from bottom in Ligue 1, leaving new boss Henry desperate for fresh blood to help his squad climb up the table.
Reds go cold on Ramsey
It’s one in and one out as far as the race to sign Aaron Ramsey is concerned. According to the Daily Mirror, Liverpool “will not be moving” for the Arsenal midfielder, because “he doesn’t fit the profile” that Jurgen Klopp wants in his new signings.
One problem is Ramsey’s extensive injury history, and the Welshman’s wage demands are also expected to be exorbitant. But above all, says the Mirror, it’s Ramsey’s age that has turned Klopp cold. He’ll be 28 next month and the Reds’ boss believes that is too old, particularly given his injury problems.
But Bayern are bullish
Liverpool may have dropped out of the race to sign the Gunners midfielder, but Bayern Munich have come up on the outside and are now the “surprise front-runners in the pursuit of the Welsh international”, according to the Daily Express.
The German giants are reported to be taking a “keen interest in Ramsey’s contract talks with Arsenal”, amid rumours from the Emirates that the Welshman will leave when his contract expires at the end of the season.
The Express claims that Bayern are ready to offer Ramsey “a deal to move to Germany as soon as they are allowed under Fifa rules early in the New Year”.
Barcelona courting Koscielny
Laurent Koscielny is scheduled to return to first-team action later this month, six months after rupturing his Achilles tendon in the Gunners’ Europa League semi-final against Atletico Madrid - but might the Frenchman soon be packing his bags again?
The Daily Star claims that Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde wants to shore up his defence in January, and that his list of potential targets includes Koscielny.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo says that Valverde views the central defender as the experienced blocker he requires at the Camp Nou.
