Aguirre has say on Salah’s Anfield future

Egypt national team head coach Javier Aguirre believes that Mohamed Salah “may be better” off leaving Liverpool if they don’t start winning trophies.

Aguirre says that Salah wants to win major honours, but that he may have to move to realise that goal. ESPN reports that in quotes verified by the Egyptian Football Association, Aguirre said: “It may be better for him to leave within a season or two if Liverpool doesn’t win any titles.”

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Ince says it may be best for all concerned if Paul Pogba departs the club. “He said recently that he was happy at Manchester United, but I didn’t believe any of that,” said Ince. “I believe a Pogba move away from United would suit both parties. He’s never settled on his return to the club. He’s been inconsistent in his performances, going from world class to looking bang average, and there’s always been whispers and transfer talk surrounding him in that time.” (Paddy Power)

Zabaleta: Nasri has quality

West Ham United defender Pablo Zabaleta says the club needs quality players such as Samir Nasri. The French midfielder is training with the Hammers as he tries to prove his fitness after returning from a drugs ban. Zabaleta said: “We need players with his quality, especially because also we lost two key players who brought quality into this team - Manuel Lanzini in the summer before the World Cup and then [Jack] Wilshere, who is very close to coming back to the team. On the ball [Nasri] is fantastic. He is one of those players who can give to the team some possession and play between the lines to help the attacking players to create chances.” (Sky Sports)
