Peace Brigades International (PBI)
Helps to provide better protection of human rights defenders worldwide
Peace Brigades International (PBI) accompanies human rights defenders who face violent reprisals just because of the work they do defending the rights of their communities. The physical presence of PBI volunteers is backed up by an extensive political and diplomatic support network, ready to respond in the event of heightened risk or threat. We have projects in Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, Nepal, Honduras and Kenya and engage with governments, the EU and the UN to call for better protection of human rights defenders worldwide. Many human rights defenders say PBI has saved their lives.
