Late Monday night, two NYPD officers were shot in the Bronx after pulling over a car in the Fremont section of the borough, law enforcement sources tell local news media.
The sources told the New York Post that after the car was pulled over at around 10:30 p.m., the driver, an armed robber, took off and crashed the vehicle. He then got out and shot the officers, hitting one in the back and the other in the arm. Both were taken to a local hospital and are expected to recover.
A manhunt is now underway for the suspect, who fled on foot.
