It's official: More people live in Florida than in New York. U.S. Census Bureau figures released Tuesday show Florida has 19.9 million residents to New York's 19.7 million, The Associated Press reports.

The Sunshine State probably hit this milestone in the spring, but Census data confirms it. From 2013 to 2014, Florida has been adding just over 800 new residents per day. Only California and Texas are home to more people — 38.8 million and 27 million, respectively.
