Amber Vinson, the Dallas nurse who flew to Ohio to visit a wedding boutique before being diagnosed with Ebola, is now asking that store for a refund of $480.
Stephen Malouf, Vinson's attorney, says that his client felt bad that the shop received negative attention because of its connection to her, and decided to have her bridesmaids purchase their dresses from a different store. Some bridesmaids had already made payments to the shop, and Vinson is asking that the money be returned.
The owner of Coming Attractions Bridal & Formal, Anna Younker, said she lost thousands of dollars after being forced to close her store, and found the request hurtful. Malouf said that was never Vinson's intention, telling The Associated Press: "I'm sorry that the shop is upset. This was an effort to help the shop and Amber.... This was a purely innocent request and I'm sorry it wasn't received in the spirit in which it was sent."
