Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the reclusive head of the Islamic State, was wounded Saturday in an air strike targeting a meeting of the militant group's leaders, according to Iraqi security officials.
Al-Baghdadi was hit by a strike in the Iraqi town of Qaim and suffered undisclosed injuries, Iraq's Defense and Interior Ministries said in statements Sunday. The Pentagon said it could not immediately confirm the reports.
