Ted Cruz avoids saying whether he'll support Sen. Mitch McConnell as majority leader
In an interview with CNN, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) avoided giving a direct answer when asked if he would support Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) as the Senate's majority leader.
McConnell defeated Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes by 15 points in Tuesday's midterm elections.
When Wolf Blitzer asked Cruz — twice — whether he'll support McConnell, Cruz responded by saying that it "will be a decision for the conference to make next week." Cruz emphasized instead that he was "focused on the resounding Republican majority," adding that Republicans will work with Democrats on issues such as tax reform.
