With about 95 percent of precincts reporting, Alaska's ballot proposition to legalize marijuana appears headed for a solid 52-48 percent win. Assuming those numbers hold up, Alaska joins Oregon and Washington, D.C., in approving recreational use of marijuana this election. Guam, a U.S. territory, also approved a ballot measure to allow medical marijuana. Florida was the only outlier, sort of: More than half of voters approved a proposal to permit medical marijuana in the Sunshine State, but they needed 60 percent.
