When GOTV organization Rock the Vote encouraged young Americans to "turn out for what" in the midterms a couple weeks ago, it neglected to mention one little detail: Many of the featured celebrities didn't actually vote in the last midterm cycle.
The Washington Post reports that actress Lena Dunham, comedian Whoopi Goldberg, Orange Is The New Black actress Natasha Lyonne, reality TV star E.J. Johnson, and actor Darren Criss all failed to vote in 2010. Additionally, the Post "was unable to locate voting records for six others who appeared in the PSA, including Lil Jon."
While the celebrities' apathy is actually pretty typical of Millennials in midterm cycles, a spokesperson for Rock the Vote insists they will all vote this time around.
