Two new polls dim Democrats' chance of holding the Senate

With just two weeks left to Election Day, a couple of new polls in crucial Senate races — in Colorado and Arkansas — show the GOP candidates maintaining or increasing their leads over Democratic incumbents.
In Colorado, a PPP poll finds Sen. Mark Udall (D) trailing challenger Cory Gardner 46 percent to 43 percent. And in Arkansas, a Hendrix College survey shows Republican Tom Cotton posting an eight-point lead over Sen. Mark Pryor (D), 49 percent to 41 percent.
After remaining tight earlier this year, both races have swung in the GOP's favor down the home stretch. Democrats now have only a 32 percent chance of holding Colorado, and a 23 percent chance of keeping a seat in Arkansas, according to The New York Times' latest forecast.
