Police are investigating an overnight attack on Rep. Emanuel Cleaver's (D-Mo.) Kansas City office in which vandals hurled what appeared to be Molotov cocktails at his windows.

Officers responded to a call at around 2:50 a.m. Thursday morning and found a broken window as well as two shattered bottles with paper towels jammed in their necks, according to the Kansas City Star. The bottles, discovered outside the office, emitted a "chemical odor" police believed to be lighter fluid.
