Economic confidence might remain down in the dumps. But Americans' satisfaction with their job security has — at least according to a recent Gallup poll — not been higher in decades.
So while there remain legions of Americans who can't get a job, and plenty of part-time workers who want full-time jobs, those who do have a job are confident they'll keep it.

Gallup's poll also shows that Americans are highly satisfied with the safety of their workplace, their relations with co-workers, and their flexibility of their hours. But they were much less happy with their pay. Just 31 percent of Americans were completely satisfied with that. But that was better than the 29 percent who were completely satisfied last year. --John Aziz
