Hillary Clinton: Edward Snowden should return to the U.S. if he's 'serious'

Hillary Clinton says it's up to Edward Snowden if he wants to return to the states, but that the discussion he started about the government's spy operations would be best served if he came home.

"He certainly can stay in Russia, apparently under Putin's protection, for the rest of his life if that's what he chooses," Clinton said in an interview with the Guardian. "But if he is serious about engaging in the debate then he could take the opportunity to come back and have that debate."
