There's a new player in the game of thrones — and she's off to an impressive start.

In a recent trip to the set of the HBO fantasy drama, Queen Elizabeth II got within feet of Westeros' famed seat of power — much, much closer than also-rans like Stannis Baratheron and Daenerys Targaryen. But King Tommen can rest easy: Queen Elizabeth was only there for a quick visit (unless Game of Thrones' next season is going to take some serious detours from the source material).

Unfortunately, the queen declined an invitation to actually sit in the Iron Throne. But come on — doesn't it look like she's already plotting to take the Lannisters down? --Scott Meslow
