The Search Continues

Malaysia to finally release satellite data from missing flight

After pressure from victims' families, Malaysia said late yesterday it will release the Inmarsat satellite data used to locate the search area for missing Malaysia Airlines flight 370. Family members of the 239 passengers on board the flight are frustrated with Malaysia's investigation, which has yielded nothing since the plane's disappearance on March 8.

"This is consistent with our stand for greater transparency and prioritizing the interests of the family members of those on board MH370," said Defense Minister Hishammuddin Hussein. It's unclear, however, when the data will be released. The satellite data suggests that the Beijing-bound flight veered way off course after departing Kuala Lampur and plunged somewhere in the Southern Indian Ocean.
