Joan Rivers slams Lena Dunham: Her appearance tells girls 'it's OK' to 'stay fat'

The normally shy and reserved Joan Rivers ridiculed Girls creator Lena Dunham's weight, saying her appearance promotes unhealthy habits. The comedienne made the comments on Howard Stern's radio show this morning.

During the interview, Rivers lashed out at Dunham's fashion choices, asking, "How could she wear dresses above the knee?" Stern rebuffed her comments, saying Dunham promotes body acceptance.

"But that's wrong!" Rivers snapped back. "You're sending a message out to people saying, 'It's OK! Stay fat! Get diabetes. Everybody die.'"
