Idaho state Rep. Vito Barbieri showed us all just how important comprehensive sex education and basic biology classes are when he asked a doctor if a woman could swallow a camera in order to have a gynecological exam.
On Monday, the Republican member of the House State Affairs Committee was listening to testimony on a bill that would ban doctors from prescribing medication to induce abortions through telemedicine, The Associated Press reports. Dr. Julie Madsen was testifying against the bill when Barbieri asked his million dollar question. After she patiently explained that no, swallowed pills don't wind up in the vagina, Barbieri replied, "Fascinating. That makes sense."
The bill ended up being approved 13-4, and will go to the House floor for a full vote.
