New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's (R) presumed presidential ambitions took a huge hit over the past year. And underscoring how far the once-formidable Christie has fallen on the national stage, 57 percent of GOP voters said they could not see themselves voting for the brash governor in 2016, according to an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll released Sunday. Meanwhile, only 32 percent said they could possibly back Christie next year.
Christie's dismal support at least topped the enthusiasm for Donald Trump. In the same survey, only 20 percent of GOP respondents said they could back the reality TV host and real estate tycoon, while 74 percent said they could not.
