Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday threw cold water on the compromise legislation advanced one day prior in the Senate that would give Congress a say in any final nuclear deal.
"We declare to you that we are not negotiating with the U.S. Senate or the House of Representatives," Rouhani said. "The party we are negotiating with is called the P5-plus-1 group."
On Tuesday, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee unanimously approved a bill that would allow lawmakers to vote on a nuclear agreement. Though President Obama initially threatened to veto the legislation, the White House signaled this week he would sign it.
