During a press conference Friday, Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake said that "there will be justice" for Gray and his family.

Rawlings-Blake also announced that five of the six officers charged in connection to Gray's case are in custody. She asked that all six officers be suspended from the police force.

"No one is above the law in our city. I was sickened and heartbroken by the statement of charges that we heard today," Rawlings-Blake said at the press conference. "We know that the men and women in the Baltimore City Police serve our city with pride, with honor, with distinction. But those of you who wish to engage in brutality, in misconduct, in racism — let me be clear: There is no place in the police department for you."
