New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) on Monday will call out action movies and Edward Snowden for concocting "baloney" about the federal government's domestic spy practices.
The second-term governor and presumed presidential candidate will visit New Hampshire Monday to deliver a speech about national security. In it, Christie will call for boosting military spending, and he will push back against "civil liberties extremists" who have criticized the National Security Agency's snooping, according to pre-released text of the address.
"All these fears are baloney," Christie is expected to say. "When it comes to fighting terrorism, our government is not the enemy. And, frankly, we don't need advice from Hollywood, the guys who made our intelligence agencies the villains in practically every movie from the last 25 years."
