Second explosion rattles Bangkok, but no injuries reported
On Tuesday, Thai authorities said they have CCTV video footage of a suspect in Monday's deadly bombing at Bangkok's Erawan Shrine, which killed 20 people, including a dozen tourists from elsewhere in Asia. As police finished cleaning up the Erawan Shrine, another explosive device was thrown from Bangkok's Taskin Bridge onto Sathorn Pier, a ferry terminal also popular with tourists. The device bounced off the cement and into the Chao Phraya River, where it exploded, splashing and frightening the people nearby. "There is no injury," Police Senior Sgt. Maj. Worapong Boonthawee told The Associated Press.
In a press conference Tuesday, Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha called Monday's bombing "the worst incident that has ever happened in Thailand," and he and other officials said the perpetrators were targeting the country's important tourism sector. Nobody has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. You can see a photo of the suspect below in the Reuters report on the aftermath of the first attack. Peter Weber
