Watch Sunday night's blood-red supermoon lunar eclipse

The last time there was a supermoon total lunar eclipse, YouTube was more than two decades from being invented, so if you missed it, your best bet to observe the eerie red moon vanishing in the Earth's shadow was in still photographs or maybe on the TV news. But this isn't 1982, and if clouds, sleep, or geography prevented you from catching Sunday night's rare eclipse, all you need is an internet connection to watch the celestial show, whenever you want, from the comfort of your home (or office). Reuters checked in with a moon-gazing party in Bogota, Colombia, getting some beautiful, clear shots:

For the whole eclipse, The Associated Press captured the event in time-lapse, from Arlington, Massachusetts. You can watch above or below — and though it's not quite as spectacular as watching the giant blood moon vanish and reappear in a clear night sky above you, it beats waiting until 2033. Peter Weber
