This is what happens when all 3 Jeopardy! contestants end up with zero dollars

It's a Jeopardy! outcome worthy of a Saturday Night Live parody: a game in which all three contestants ended up with zero dollars. On Monday's episode of the popular game show, all three contestants whiffed on the (admittedly difficult) Final Jeopardy question, resulting in a three-way loss.
It's an extremely rare outcome for a Jeopardy! game, but host Alex Trebek knew how to handle it: As the contestants nervously chuckled, Trebek announced that the next day's game wouldn't feature any returning players. "Sorry, folks," Trebek said, waving the camera away:
According to The AV Club, this is only the sixth time in Jeopardy! history that all three contestants have ended the game with zero dollars. But the contestants shouldn't feel too bad about their odd footnote in the game show's record books; if it can happen to Cliff Clavin, it can happen to anybody.
