Ben Carson campaign staff injured in Iowa car wreck

Ben Carson will return to campaigning once this tragic situation has been resolved.

Three Ben Carson campaign volunteers and a campaign employee were in a car crash in Iowa, Carson's campaign reports. The staffers' van hit a patch of ice and flipped on its side, where it was struck by another vehicle, according to reports.

Three of the staffers have been checked in at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa. One volunteer has been transported to the trauma center at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska and is reportedly in grave condition. ABC News' Katherine Faulders reports that the volunteers were students.
