A 25-year-old Ben Carson campaign volunteer died Tuesday from injuries sustained during a car accident in Iowa.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Carson campaign announced that a van carrying a staffer and three volunteers flipped after hitting a patch of ice. The van was then hit by another vehicle. Braden Joplin, a student at Texas Tech University, was transported to a trauma center in Omaha, where he died, USA Today reports. The other three passengers were treated at a hospital in Atlantic, Iowa, and released. Following the accident, Carson suspended all campaign activities for the day.
