Buffalo Bills hire NFL's first female full-time coach

On Wednesday, Kathryn Smith became the NFL's first female full-time assistant coach.

Smith was hired by the Buffalo Bills as the special teams quality control coach. She previously worked as Coach Rex Ryan's administrative assistant, and was a player personnel assistant with the New York Jets. "Kathryn Smith has done an outstanding job in the seven years that she has worked with our staff," Ryan said in a statement. "She certainly deserves this promotion based on her knowledge and strong commitment, just to name a couple of her outstanding qualities."
