South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley will endorse Florida Sen. Marco Rubio for president on Wednesday during a 6 p.m. campaign event, The Post and Courier reports. Haley has held out until the last minute with her endorsement; her state's Republican primary will be held on Saturday.
Rubio is polling in third place in the state with 16 percent support, just below Ted Cruz's 17.8 percent and far behind frontrunner Donald Trump's 35 percent.
The endorsement was confirmed by an anonymous source who spoke with The Post and Courier.
