John Kasich's campaign thinks he'll do well enough in South Carolina to knock other candidates out of the race

A top strategist for John Kasich believes that no matter how the Republican presidential candidate does in Saturday's South Carolina primary, it will be enough "to drive somebody else out of the race."

John Weaver told reporters that he is sure two candidates — including Jeb Bush — will exit the race over the next week, The Associated Press reports. "For all practical purposes, there's no path forward" for Bush, Weaver added. While the Ohio governor finished second in New Hampshire, expectations are not as high in South Carolina, and Kasich has been primarily focusing on gaining exposure in states that have primaries and caucuses in March.
