Ted Cruz thinks Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson would make a great U.N. ambassador
Ted Cruz is giving the world a sneak peek of who he would like to see representing the United States if he's elected president.
At a campaign rally in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on Friday, Cruz said he could picture supporter and Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson as U.N. ambassador. "How much would you pay to see the Russian ambassador's face when Phil says, 'What is wrong with you people?'" he said to applause. Robertson has appeared at Cruz events before, including a rally last month in Iowa where he called same-sex message "sinful" and "evil."
Cruz had nothing but praise for Robertson, saying he "terrifies" the "mainstream media" because he "says the things you're not supposed to say. He actually remembers who we are as Americans and just speaks it with a joy, not with an anger, not with a hatred, with a joy in who we are."
