Kendrick Lamar has released eight untitled tracks as a follow-up to his critically acclaimed 2015 album, To Pimp a Butterfly. The new "album," untitled unmastered, appears to be a sort of "stop-gap release," according to The Wall Street Journal, which goes on to speculate that the collection is aimed at pleasing fans and maintaining the rapper's impressive momentum.
The tracks on untitled unmastered, all of which are untitled, were reportedly made between 2013 and 2016.
Lamar has spoken before about having a "chamber" of unreleased tracks. "You have to release those untitled tracks asap!!! What’s up? Talk to me," basketball player LeBron James tweeted at the head of Lamar's label after Lamar's jaw-dropping Grammy performance in which he debuted "Untitled 07."
